Natural dopamine: what it is for

Natural dopamine, so called because the precursor molecule, from which George Barger and James Ewens synthesized it, is called L-DOPA. It is a important neurotransmitter of the catecholamine family, important because controls movement, working memory, feeling of pleasure, reward, the production of prolactin, the mechanisms of sleep regulation and even attention span and some cognitive faculties.

At the same time it promotes intestinal motility, reduces lymphocyte activity and insulin secretion.

Dopamine and serotonin
