Boil a cup of water. Add 50 grams of leaves of eucalyptus chopped. Let it boil for another 2 minutes, turn off the stove and leave to infuse for 10 minutes. Add a tablespoon of honey and the juice of half a lemon. Filter and consume.

Eucalyptus essential oil

Eucalyptus essential oil collects all the active ingredients contained in the leaves, and it is no coincidence that it is produced by a steam distillation process of the older plant leaves.

Eucalyptus essential oil is famous for its decongestant properties: it is perfect to add to aqueous or saline solutions used in syringes or pressure applicators to decongest the nose or uncork the ears.

The active ingredients of eucalyptus essential oil have a powerful mucolytic action, and have expectorant and decongestant properties; the properties do not end there, the eucalyptus leaves are rich in monoterpenes, substances with an antispasmodic and balsamic action.
