Do it yourself natural soap, how to proceed
To start, prepare thelye(potassium hydroxide) by putting the water and ash in a pot. Mix well and cook for two hours over low heat. After 120 minutes, spread a white cloth over a fairly large container and pour in the mixture obtained: the lye obtained will besmoothand free of impurities. The impurities retained in the kitchen cloth can be discarded while you go to use the liquid collected in the container.
In a clean pot, add the oil. Start the fire over low heat and bring the oil to a temperature of about 30 ° (you will need a kitchen thermometer with probe, you can buy it on Amazon for about 10 euros).
In the container, leave about half a liter of lye; add the starch to the mixture and gradually pour the rest of the mixture into the oil. Mix carefully and add, only at a later time, that half liter of lye set aside with the starch. Mix thoroughly: at this stage, if you have set aside some aroma (essential oil, cinnamon ...), you can add it.
Pour all the mixture into special molds or spread it out on a large leveling board organized to obtain a soap plate of a predetermined thickness. When the soap has solidified, cut it to the desired size. The soap should not be cut or used immediately ... let it rest for at least two weeks.
